- 1 bowl and easy cleanup
Ingredients
- Vegan Butter, Softened: Vegan butter serves as the fat component in the recipe, providing richness, moisture, and flavor to the snickerdoodle bars. Softened vegan butter is easier to incorporate into the dough and helps create a tender texture.
- Granulated Sugar: Granulated sugar sweetens the snickerdoodle bars and also helps create a chewy texture. It caramelizes slightly during baking, contributing to the golden color and flavor of the bars.
- Baking Powder and Baking Soda: Baking powder and baking soda are leavening agents that help the snickerdoodle bars rise and become light and fluffy.
- Salt: Salt enhances the flavor of the snickerdoodle bars by balancing the sweetness and adding depth.
- Vanilla Extract: Vanilla extract adds a warm and aromatic flavor to the snickerdoodle bars, enhancing their overall taste.
- Nondairy Milk: Nondairy milk adds moisture to the dough and helps bind the ingredients together. It also contributes to the tenderness of the bars and ensures they have a soft and chewy texture.
- All-Purpose Flour: All-purpose flour is the main dry ingredient in the recipe, providing structure and texture to the snickerdoodle bars. It contains gluten, which gives the bars their chewy and slightly dense consistency.
- Granulated Sugar, Ground Cinnamon (for Sprinkling): The mixture of granulated sugar and ground cinnamon is used to sprinkle over the bars before baking. This coating adds sweetness and a warm, spicy flavor to the bars.

Tips for Making Vegan Snickerdoodle Bars
- Use Good Vegan Butter: Opt for a high-quality vegan butter that mimics the flavor and texture of dairy butter. Soften it to room temperature before using it in the recipe for easier mixing and better incorporation into the dough.
- Cream Butter and Sugar Well: Cream the softened vegan butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy. This helps incorporate air into the mixture, resulting in a lighter and more tender texture for the bars.
- Don't Over-mix: Be careful not to over-mix the dough once you add the dry ingredients. Over-mixing can lead to tough and dense bars.
- Bake Until Golden Brown: Bake the snickerdoodle bars until they are golden brown around the edges and set in the center. They should have a slightly soft and chewy texture in the middle. Avoid over-baking, as this can result in dry and crumbly bars.
- Cool Completely Before Cutting: Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before cutting them into squares. This helps them firm up and set properly, making them easier to slice without crumbling.
